Lady Gaga showed up at the Oscars 2019 in a remarkable outfit. She was wearing a beautiful Alexander McQueen dress with matching opera gloves. However, the most notable part of her ensemble was her Tiffany & Co diamond necklace. It is said to be worth more than 30 million dollars!
“Lady Gaga is the ultimate creator, innovator and rule breaker, and I’m thrilled that she will be wearing the legendary Tiffany Diamond on the awards show red carpet for the first time since it was discovered 141 years ago” Reed Krakoff, Tiffany & Co. Chief Artistic Officer
The priceless stone totals 128.54 carats and has over 82 radiant facets. In fact, it is one of the largest yellow diamonds in the world! It was first discovered in South Africa 141 years ago by Tiffany & Co. founder Charles Lewis Tiffany. Since its discovery, the stone was only worn once by Audrey Hepburn in 1961 for her publicity photos for her film Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Who other than Lady Gaga would not only have the honour of wearing this priceless necklace, but would also leave the Oscar with Best Original Song trophy?
