Jordana Schrager

Jordana Schrager is an artist, designer and founder of Jordana. She uses shoes, clothing and accessories as canvas and personalizes these items with hand-drawn illustrations and drawings. Custom templates are designed to create unique pieces for all customers. Her inspiration for Jordana began in high school, when she customized sneakers and brought them to school the next day. After receiving many compliments and important requests for her custom shoes, Jordana was born!

Today, she designed tailored sneakers and clothing for local clients, including celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Nick Cannon and P! NK. But also partner companies such as Bloomingdale, Nordstrom, Saks, Steve Madden, Converse, Journeys, Ugg, Starbucks, Maybelline, Adidas, Reebok, Vans, SoulCycle, Bandier, Sharpie, Taco Bell, Jamba Juice, Capital One, T-Mobile , Vineyards Vines, and even more!

Blank Canvases

She worked one-on-one with her clients to choose icons, favorite emojis, themes, and colors to create unique patterns. Schrager bought white canvas sneakers at retailers for $ 50 a pair. After customizing each shoe, she sold the redecorated signs of peace, cheesy pizza slices splashed on neon motives for $ 280 to $ 380 a pair, and kept most of the mark up for profit. But a single order can take a whole day, which gives a waiting list of two months. Some customers would pay an extra $ 100 to speed up the process, but Schrager realized that the backlog would have an impact on customer service. Indeed, she needs time to make drawings. And sometimes she loses clients because they did not want to wait.

“There were so many sneaker orders, I couldn’t handle them” – Jordana Schrager

From Customers to Pop Stars

In addition to fast food connoisseurs, she gained celebrity that year through a partnership with Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. While still a student, the arena asked her to create personalized gifts for artists. She also sent free pairs to fashion and fitness bloggers like WeWoreWhat’s Danielle Bernstein. Marking and republishing the images of influencers wearing full-colored shoes would always result in an increase in followers, inquiries and orders.

Meanwhile, social media has helped her to form large partnerships. Her first big hit came in her first year at college in 2015, when Taco Bell’s marketing team contacted her. They had spotted his Instagram feed and ordered two pairs of taco-themed sneakers, $ 280 each, for a gift on social media, a campaign that would feed thousands of people.
