Chinese New Year will take place on January 25 and, to celebrate, Gucci is releasing a Mickey Mouse-themed collection.

This is not the first time that Disney and Gucci have joined forces. Indeed, last year, Gucci released a 4500$ luxury Mickey Bag.
According to the traditional Chinese calendar, 2020 will be the Year of the Rat. So, there’s no better time to celebrate Disney’s iconic mascot.
After a first look at some of the products, Disney and Gucci released the lookbook for their upcoming collaboration. Of course, the collection is themed around Mickey Mouse and includes a number of references to the iconic character.
The collection features sweatshirts, coats, cardigans, accessories, footwear, and bags.
A Mickey Mouse-inspired Collection
The Gucci x Mickey mouse Chinese New Year collection includes women’s and men’s clothing, footwear and accessories. The design is a mix between the Italian fashion house’s signature prints and the renowned cartoon character’s style.
Moreover, the stand-out element for the collection is the all-new Mini GG Supreme canvas with Mickey Mouse. This monogram features the iconic interlocking GG pattern as well as multiple prints of the Disney character.
This print is a reference to one of Gucci’s classic ’80s fabrics. The original design, color and look come through high-definition digital printing. This canvas is used on handbags, small leather goods, luggage, and shoes, as well as on a coat. Embroidered patches and jacquard motifs also hit the collection.
Finally, some pieces feature an all-over Mickey and Minnie mouse colorful print.

Release Date of Gucci x Mickey Mouse
The full Gucci x Mickey Mouse Chinese New Year collection will release on January 3 via Gucci’s web store and select stockists.
