Short version: the floating dry dock where the Russian carrier Admiral Kuznetsov was being refitted suffered a major accident, with the the dry dock rapidly sinking, causing a 70-ton crane to come crashing down on the carrier, ripping open a 16 foot long gash in the hull near the waterline.
