Monsieur Plant, when sneakers meet nature!
The French artist Christophe Guinet, better known as Monsieur Plant, has created “Just Grow It”, a collection of sneakers adorned with nature.
“Just Grow It”
Christophe Guinet continues his transformation of every day on objects of pop culture. But this time, he turns his green hands on a pair of classic Reeboks. Re-fabricate sportswear icons using only Mother Nature’s materials.
The Monsieur plant basketball comes in a variety of pastel-coloured petals and tree bark intricately crafted on the pair of retro sneakers. With all the facets of the sole of the foot to the tip of the foot, united to form only part of the natural universe of the artist.
The Beginning
His affliction with nature developed as a teenager with a passion for plants, especially the cultivation of orchids. He was attracted by their demanding needs and rewarded by the beauty and delicacy of their flowers. Later on, his tastes evolved to urban cultures including skate, street art and fashion. All inspiring him to embark on creating things himself before gathering a team of creative talents to set up his own design and communications collective known as the «SEIZE».

Guinet World
The artist transforms objects into a composite of rocks, poppies, seeds, flower petals and wood. Guinet even made his own Darth Vader skein helmet and his complete batman costume. Last year, Mr Plant presented his latest collaboration with the cider brand Strongbow. He gave life to the universe of the artist. More recently, he made an installation to mark the opening of the “camp” in Provence. And map an imaginary through the woods and tell about the absorption of human rights by nature in a series of hybrids resembling tree-men.
