Nike celebrates the 30th anniversary of its Air Max 90 silhouette with the newly designed “Air Max 2090”.

The brand new iteration comes in a capsule collection that also includes the Air Max 90 FlyEase and the WMNS exclusive Air Max Verona. All sneakers feature iconic Air max 90’s elements that are redesigned with a futuristic approach. Here’s a complete look at the first sneaker of the collection, the “Air Max 2090”.

The sneaker sports the same DNA that made the Air Max 90 so iconic in the first place.

First, the Air Max 2090 mudguard remains untouched from the original.

Then, the Air Max 90 cassette (the element which surrounds the Air unit) also persists.

Finally, the classic heel logo of the Air Max 90 is reflected on the Air Max 2090. However, the latest is updated as a cropped “Air” logo.

Here’s what the original Air Max 90 looks like.

Now, let’s go over the new features that appear on the Air Max 2090.

The upcoming design features panels with different levels of opacity. The most supportive materials are 100 % opaque while the least supportive are see-through.

The sneaker’s colorway is an ode to the original Air Max 90 drawing which was inspired by Italian sports cars.

In terms of branding, the 2090 features a cropped Nike Swoosh that is overlaid by the side panel.

Finally, the Air Max 2090 presents an updated pattern for performance and flexibility.
