Supreme is about to drop a bold collection honouring the estate of the New York graffiti legend, Rammellzee. Here is a full look at the collection as well as its official release date.
Supreme x Rammellzee
For the Spring/Summer 2020 Week 4 drop, Supreme has prepared a collaborative capsule in partnership with the estate of RAMMELLZEE. The latest serves as a vivid tribute to a pioneer of Big Apple street art.
In terms of apparel, the collection features a hoodie, sweatpants, two t-shirts, a GORE-TEX anorak, and pants. Plus, two accessories consisting of a cap and a De Martini Messenger Bag complete the collection.
The collection is divided into 3 different stages which reflect specific moments in his career.
First, Rammellzee began his artistic journey by writing graffiti on the heavily trafficked A train during the ’70s. His signature jagged lettering style appears on one of the collection’s T-shirts.
Then, in the ’80s, he moved toward abstract and neon-splotched paintings. These conceptual artworks can be found on the fleece hoodies, sweats, GORE-TEX anoraks, pants and accessories such as hats and the famous De Martini messenger bag.
Finally, in the ’90s, Rammellzee created giant sculptures called the “Garbage Gods,” colossal pieces of art with names such as “Vain the Insane” and “Chaser the Eraser”. References to these sculptures appear on some of the collection’s T-shirts.
