First unveiled on the PFW runway, the Sacai x Nike “VaporWaffle” is set to release in fall 2020. Here’s a first look at its 3 colorways.
Sacai x Nike “VaporWaffle”
The mysterious Sacai x Nike sneaker that we’ve seen on the runway of Paris Fashion Week will be named the “VaporWaffle”, confirmed a Sacai representative.
The sneaker model will be available in three colorways.
- Sail / Sport Fuchsia / Light Bone / Game Royal
- Black / Summit White / Pure Platinum
- String / Black-Villain Red / Neptune Green
The sneaker will feature a superimposition of Swooshes, laces, tongues, and soles. This layered design is common practice for the Asian brand. In fact, we’ve seen it on both the Nike x Sacai LD Waffle and Blazer released last year.
In opposite to the Sacai x Nike LD Waffle, we can say that the new model is more experimental with a greater off-center look. In fact, the double-layered outsole seems to protrude far beyond the back of the heel, providing a more futuristic style.
As for the details, we can appreciate two Swooshes. The first one, made of leather, appears behind the second one, which seems to be painted. We can also appreciate bold color contrasts that are enhanced by the use of several different materials.
The four colorways of the LDWaffle all went sold out in a few minutes and we expect nothing less for the VaporWaffle. In fact, the latest should be one of the biggest sneaker drops of 2020.
Release Date
The Sacai x Nike VaporWaffle sneaker should release sometime in Fall 2020 at select retailers and on Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $180 USD.
