First unveiled during the Spring/Summer 2020 runway in June 2019, we now have a better look at the Dior & Daniel Arsham “Newspaper” print collection. The latest forms a small capsule within the overall Dior Men’s SS20 collection.

Dior & Daniel Arsham

Thanks to Kim Jones and Daniel Arsham, the Dior spring/summer 2020 collection brings back the famous Newspaper print, which was first introduced by John Galliano on the spring/summer 2000 Haute Couture runway and became one of Dior‘s most iconic patterns.

Created in collaboration with contemporary artist Daniel Arsham, the reworked prints are made of press releases written by Christian Dior himself.

The collection, which features a neutral beige and cream colourway, includes highly coveted items such as the Saddle Bag, the nylon organza jacket and the wide scarf. The emblematic B23 sneaker also received the same “Newspaper” print rework.

Finally, the inscription “Collection Été 3020” meaning “Summer Collection 3020” can be found on each item of Dior’s SS20 collection.

“The idea of turning an everyday day item like that into a textile felt similar to the way in which I try to reinvent everyday objects in my own work. I reworked the original 20 year old print with new text and drawings and altered the dates as well. The new print forms a small capsule within the overall dior collection I made with Kim. Happy to see it finally out in the world!”
