Who said fashion and Species Conservation can’t be aligned behind one purpose?
Balenciaga has teamed up with Farfetch! They made a new collaboration that champions species conservation through fashion. The collection shown in the exclusive capsule contains menswear, womenswear as well as kidswear. There is a piece of clothing for everyone!
The “Species Conservation”
Exit fur, leather, exotic leathers or even down. As of Today, there are 750 extinct animal species, 2,700 in the process of extinction, 12,500 threatened worldwide.
Therefore, the two brands decided to raise awareness. Northern white rhinos, Asian elephants, blue whales or giant pandas, these rare animals are immortalized on the hoods, t-shirts and bags of the collection. It’s time to choose yours!

The capsule features several firsts for the two brands. First, it includes new colours and fabrics. Second, the collection will not feature any leather, fur or down. Don’t worry the blurred effect on the photos will remain an effect.
The “Purpose”
“Bringing awareness to threatened species and supporting the conservation actions of IUCN is part of our vision.”
– Cédric Charbit, Chief Executive Officer of Balenciaga.
Of course, Balenciaga will donate some of the proceeds towards the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). It’s an organization working in the field of nature conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. Excellent idea!
Which one is your favorite in the Farfetch & Balenciaga capsule? It is never too late to react! A little act can make the difference.
