Batman Converse sneakers will soon be on the market. The collection revisits the DC archives with retro emblems and comic book covers.

Batman Converse Collaboration

After a series of successful sneaker collaborations this summer, Converse is back with a new powerful partnership. In fact, the footwear brand is celebrating the 80th anniversary of “Batman”. For the occasion, Converse will release a heavily branded sneaker capsule which will include six shoes covered in the comic’s prints.

More precisely, the upcoming collaboration will feature, 2 pairs of batman Chuck ’70s, 2 pairs of batman high-top All Stars and 2 batman low-tops. Everything will be available in family size.

Interestingly, the inspiration for this collection is drawn from the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s. It taps into the Pop Art style that was so popula during those eras.

The Batman Chuck ‘70

2 pairs of Chuck ’70s will be released. The first one sports a classic white canvas upper adorned with pink and yellow Batman logos. The chosen logo is the one we can see on the DC Comic of Batman N°220 (March 1970). As for the second Chuck ‘70 sneaker, it features various reinterpretations of the same artwork on a black canvas upper.

The Chuck Taylor

The collection also includes 2 Chuck Taylor All-Star Hi-Tops. The first one presents artwork inspired by the cover of Batman N°190 (March 1967). The original cover was penciled by Carmine Infantino and inked by Joe Giella. Plus, Batman logos take place throughout the shoe.

The second sneaker features one of the first batman artworks ever made. It was actually inspired by the Detective Comics N°164 (October 1950). The artwork of Batman and Robin was penciled by Win Mortimer and inked by George Roussos.

Batman x Converse Low-Tops

2 pairs of low-tops Converse were also created to celebrate Batman’s 80th anniversary. The first pair features the Joker from Batman N°251 (September 1973). The other sports 7 different Batman logos. Each were introduced at varying times between 1940 to 1986.

Converse and Batman Release Date

All six sneakers will release on October 21 at Converse.com. Stay tuned for more info!
